Using the Gallery Page

Use Gallery Pages to showcase images and videos in eye-catching layouts and styles. Gallery Pages have specific designs intended to match and work with your template. In any template's Gallery Page, you can display your own images, licensed Getty Images, and videos.

In this guide, you'll learn how to add a new Gallery Page and add images and videos to it.

Note: The instructions in this guide also apply to Project Pages.

Before you begin

Add a Gallery Page

In the Home Menu, click Pages, then click the + icon and choose Gallery.

For detailed steps, visit Adding pages to your navigation.

Add your own images

Before you begin

  • For best results, we recommend reviewing our image formatting guidelines before uploading.
  • There is a 20 MB size limit for images added to the Gallery Page. However, we suggest using images less than 500 KB for best results. You can add up to 250 images or videos to each Gallery Page. Large galleries may take longer to load.
  • You can upload multiple images at a time, but you can't upload .zip files or other compressed file formats.

There are three ways to add your own images to a Gallery Page:

  • Click the + icon, then select Image.
  • Click the empty box to open your computer's file manager, then click Open or Choose to add the image to the gallery.
  • Drag and drop images into the empty box in the Gallery Page panel.

Upload your images

  2. Tap the title of the Gallery Page where you want to add images.
  3. Tap the icon, then tap a method for uploading the images.

Add a stock image

With our stock image integrations, you can search and add for stock images directly from your site. This is a great option if you don't already have an image to use.

To use a stock image, click the + icon, and then click Search Images.

Add a video

All templates' Gallery Pages (except Frontrow) support externally hosted videos. Click the + icon in the Gallery panel, then click Add Video.

Note: The example in this guide uses a YouTube video. We also support Vimeo, Animoto, and Wistia, but their embedding options may differ from what you see here. Check with your video host if you're unsure where to find the video’s URL or the embed code.

The Gallery Page supports two options for adding a video: a direct URL or an HTML embed code.

Use a URL

Copy the video’s URL from the browser address bar and paste it into the Edit Video menu.

Use HTML embed code

Add a video’s HTML embed code to the video editor. Most video hosting services offer a Share or Embed button. Click Share or Embed, and then copy the code provided.

Click the code icon in the video editor to add the embed code.

Paste the code into the Embed Data box, then click Set.

Add an image overlay (optional)

Once you've added the video, you can add a thumbnail image. This image displays over the video before it’s played. It could be a title card, a frame from the video, or any other image that encourages visitors to click play.

Note: Adding an image overlay to any video disables gallery autoplay. Visitors will need to click to see the next item.

To add an image overlay, drag your image into the uploader, then check Use Thumbnail.

To remove the thumbnail image, click the trash can icon below the thumbnail.

Add titles and descriptions

Scheduled, Needs Review, and Draft can be helpful if you want to upload content to your site, but don’t want to make it publicly visible. You can keep an item unpublished for other site contributors to review before it’s public or when you’re testing your page’s style.

Save vs. Save & Publish

When you first upload an image or link a video, you’ll see Save and Save & Publish options at the bottom of the editor.

Click Save to close the editor and set the item as a draft and hidden from your live site. Click Save & Publish to close the editor and publish the item and make it visible on your live site.
