Editing products

Follow these steps to find and edit a product in your Squarespace store. You can remove products from your store by hiding or deleting them.

What you can edit

You can add product images and edit basic product information from the Squarespace Commerce App. To access the full product editor, visit your site on a computer.

Edit a product

Open a product to edit it.

Open a product from a Products Page:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.
  2. Click a Products Page.
  3. Double-click a product to open the product editor.
  4. Make your changes, then click Save.

You can also edit products from the Inventory panel. This is a better option if you have many Products Pages and need to find a specific product quickly. To edit products from the Inventory panel:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Commerce, then click Inventory.
  2. Use the search bar to find a product.
  3. Click a product to open it for editing.

  1. From the main menu, tap Inventory.
  2. Scroll to view all products.
  3. Tap a product to edit it.
  4. Tap any area to edit text, stock levels, or product visibility, then tap Save at the top of the screen to apply changes.

Add and edit product images

To edit images:

  1. From the product editor, click and drag images to rearrange them.
  2. Hover over an image and click the icons to add an image title, edit the photo, or delete the image.
  3. To add a new image, click Upload images. You may need to scroll down to see this option.

You can also edit the product thumbnail image from the Options tab, and variant-specific images from the Pricing & Variants tab.

  1. From the product details, swipe through the images at the top of the screen to view all current product images. The first image on the left is your product’s primary image.
  2. Tap and drag any image to move it to a different position.
  3. To add a new image, tap the + icon.
  4. Then choose from the following options:
  • Tap Take photo to take a new photo using your device’s camera.
  • Tap Photo library to choose a new image from your device’s camera roll.
  • Tap Insert from… to upload a new image from iCloud.
  1. To delete an image, tap and hold it until the trash can icon appears. Drag the image to the trash can.

You may need give the app permission to access your camera or photos by tapping OK. You can also add this permission in your device’s Settings under Privacy > Photos.

Note: It’s not possible to edit a product’s thumbnail image or variant-specific images from the app.

You may need give the app permission to access your camera or photos by tapping Allow. You can also add this permission in your device’s Settings under Apps > Squarespace Commerce > Permissions.

Delete a product

To permanently remove a product from your store, delete it.

Before you begin, keep in mind:

  • Deleted products can’t be restored. If you think you’ll sell the product again, or if it includes information you might need later, hide it instead.
  • If you delete a product, you won't be able to export a .csv file for that specific product.
  • You can't reuse a deleted product's URL. To use it for other products, change the product's URL before deleting it.

To delete a single product:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.
  2. Click a Products Page.
  3. Double-click a product to open the product editor.
  4. In the product editor, click Delete.
  5. Click Confirm.
  • From the main menu, tap Inventory.
  • Tap any product to view its details.
  • Tap Delete.
  • Tap Yes to confirm.

Delete multiple products (computer only)

On a computer, you can delete multiple products at a time:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Pages. Click a Products Page.
  2. Press and hold Shift, and click the products you want to delete.
  3. Continue holding Shift to select multiple products.
  4. Press + Delete (Mac) or Ctrl + Delete (on a PC).
  5. Click Confirm.

Hide a product

To temporarily remove or unlist a product from your store:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.
  2. Click a Products Page.
  3. Double-click a product to open the product editor.
  4. Change the status from Visible to Hidden.
  5. Click Save.

  3. Tap Status.
  4. Change the product’s status from Visible to Hidden.
  5. Tap Yes to confirm.

Re-list hidden a product

To re-list a hidden product, change the status from Hidden to Visible:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.
  2. Click a Products Page.
  3. Double-click a product to open the product editor.
  4. Change the status from Hidden back to Visible.
  5. Click Save.

Schedule a product

You can schedule products to publish live on your store at a specific time.

To schedule a product:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.
  2. Click a Products Page.
  3. Double-click a product to open the product editor. For detailed steps, visit Editing a product.
  4. In the product editor, click Hidden (or Visible if the product is currently listed).
  5. Select Scheduled.
  6. Click the date next to Will be visible.
  7. In the calendar window, select a date and time for the product to become visible. You can also use the slider to make the product visible in a specified number of days from now.
  8. Click Save.

  3. Tap Status.
  4. Tap Scheduled.
  5. Select the date and time the product will become visible.
  6. Tap Edit product to save your changes and return to the product details.
  7. Tap Save.
