Open the domains dashboard

You can find your domains dashboard at account.squarespace.com/domains. If you're logged into a site:

  1. Go to the Home menu, scroll down, and click your profile picture or initials. If prompted, log into your account. If you're having trouble, visit I can't log in.
  2. Click Domains.

Review your domains

The domains dashboard shows every custom Squarespace and third-party domain linked to your account. To transfer an existing domain to Squarespace or register a new domain, open your dashboard, then click the Transfer a domain or Get a domain buttons in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

If a domain has an attached Google Workspace subscription, an envelope icon appears next to the domain name.

Note

You'll only see domains for the sites where you're an owner or administrator. Learn more about site permissions.

You can organize the list of domains by name, status, provider, or expiration date. Click a domain name to open the domain details page and manage your domain's settings.

Domain details page

The domain details page displays information about your domain and provides a single place where you can manage all of your domain's settings, including:

My domain doesn't appear in my dashboard

If your domain doesn't appear in your domains dashboard, it may be listed under a different Squarespace account, hosted with another provider, or unsuccessfully registered.

If none of the following apply, or you're unable to find your domain after taking the troubleshooting steps below, contact us for help.

Check for other Squarespace accounts

If your domain isn't showing up in your domains dashboard, it may be listed under a different Squarespace account. If you're not sure what email address might be associated with the account that holds your domain:

  1. Go to https://www.squarespace.com/login
  2. Click Can't log in?
  3. Click Don't know the email address.
  4. Enter your custom domain, then click Send email.
  5. Check all your email accounts to see which account received the recovery email.

Check your domain provider

If Squarespace isn't your domain provider, or the domain isn't a third-party domain connected to a Squarespace site, it won't appear in your domains dashboard. If you’re not sure if Squarespace is your domain provider:

  1. Navigate to ICANN’s Registration data lookup tool.
  2. Enter your domain name in the search field.
  3. Click Lookup.
  4. On the results page, look for the name listed in the Registrar section.
  5. If the Registrar section only displays an Internet Assigned Numbers Authority ID (IANA ID), look up the number in the IANA IDs table for the registrar that corresponds with the ID number.

Keep in mind, if Tucows is listed as the Registrar, Squarespace may be your provider. Visit Who's my domain provider for more information.

Check for failed domain registrations

If you tried to register a Squarespace domain and the registration failed, the domain may not appear in your domains dashboard. If your domain registration isn't successful, you'll receive an email with the subject "We were unable to complete purchasing your domain(s)." To complete your purchase, follow our domain registration troubleshooting steps
