Step 2 - Generate qualifying subscriptions
To generate qualifying subscriptions for website and Acuity Scheduling subscriptions:
- Start a website or Acuity Scheduling trial using your Circle email account.
- Upgrade to an annual subscription.
- The subscription will count as a qualifying subscription and automatically appear in Impact after it is active for 15 days.
To generate qualifying subscriptions for the Digital Product plan or Email Campaigns subscriptions:
- Start a website trial using your Circle email account, then upgrade to a paid site .
- Purchase an annual Digital Product plan or Email Campaigns subscription for that site.
- The subscription will count as a qualifying subscription and automatically appear in Impact after it's active for 15 days.
Step 3 - Meet the unlock threshold
To earn commission, you first need to refer the required number of qualifying subscriptions to meet the unlock threshold in the qualifying period. After you have met the applicable unlock threshold, you'll start receiving commission on each additional qualifying subscription you refer during such qualifying period.
Below is the unlock threshold for the 2023 qualifying period.
Qualifying period | Unlock threshold |
2023 (from January 1, 2023 at 12:00 AM through December 31, 2023 at 11:59 PM ET) | 4 qualifying subscriptions |
For example, in the 2023 qualifying period, you'll start to earn commissions starting with your fifth qualifying subscription through the end of the 2023 qualifying period.
Step 4 - Receive your commissions
Any more qualifying subscriptions referred after you meet the unlock threshold are commission subscriptions. You’ll receive payment for commission subscriptions about 40 days after the end of the month when they become commission subscriptions. For example, if you had a commission subscription in January 2023, you’d receive payment for it in March 2023.
Access your Impact account to find details about qualifying subscriptions you received credit for, commissions you earned, and payment timing. Subscriptions won't appear until they've been active for 15 days.
To learn more, visit Qualifying subscriptions and commission amounts.
Tip: The Squarespace Affiliate Program has its own requirements and eligible Circle members are welcome to apply and participate in both.
Qualifying subscriptions and commission amounts
For a subscription to qualify, it needs to be:
- Upgraded after joining Impact
- On an annual plan at time of first subscription payment
- Active 15 days after the first subscription payment, and remain on an annual plan in those first 15 days
To learn how to access information about your qualifying subscriptions, visit Reviewing your qualifying subscriptions in Impact.
The commission amount depends on the subscription plan and who started the trial, and is only paid after you meet the unlock threshold. We don't use referral codes or links for this benefit.

No. For a Digital Product plan to count as a qualifying subscription, it must be purchased separately from other Squarespace plans that give you access to digital products. |

Unlock referral payments in 2024
We’re unlocking the 2024 threshold for Circle members who generate 20 or more qualifying subscriptions in 2023.
In other words, if you refer 20 or more qualifying subscriptions on or before 11:59 PM on December 31, 2023 ET, you’ll earn a commission starting with your first qualifying subscription in 2024 without having to separately meet the unlock threshold for the 2024 qualifying period.
