Step 2 - Generate qualifying subscriptions

To generate qualifying subscriptions for website and Acuity Scheduling subscriptions:

      1. Start a website or Acuity Scheduling trial using your Circle email account.
      2. Upgrade to an annual subscription.
      3. The subscription will count as a qualifying subscription and automatically appear in Impact after it is active for 15 days.

To generate qualifying subscriptions for the Digital Product plan or Email Campaigns subscriptions:

      1. Start a website trial using your Circle email account, then upgrade to a paid site.
      2. Purchase an annual Digital Product plan or Email Campaigns subscription for that site.
      3. The subscription will count as a qualifying subscription and automatically appear in Impact after it's active for 15 days.

Through the end of 2025, Circle members can earn a commission when Squarespace Payments is enabled on a client's website account. To generate a Squarespace Payments qualifying subscription:

      1. Your current or past client enables Squarespace Payments on their website, and the website subscription is on an annual plan.
      2. A successful order is completed with Squarespace Payments.

      Note

For Squarespace Payments to count as a qualifying subscription, your client needs to complete both steps - enable Squarespace Payments and process an order.

Step 3 - Meet the unlock threshold

To earn a commission, you first need to refer the required number of qualifying subscriptions to meet the unlock threshold in the qualifying period. After you have met the applicable unlock threshold, you'll start receiving commission on each additional qualifying subscription you refer during such qualifying period.

      Qualifying period Unlock threshold
      2024 (from January 1, 2024 at 12:00 AM through December 31, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET) 4 qualifying subscriptions
      2025 (from January 1, 2025 at 12:00 AM through December 31, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET) 4 qualifying subscriptions

In the 2024 qualifying period, you'll start to earn commissions beginning with your fifth qualifying subscription through the end of the 2024 qualifying period.

In the 2025 qualifying period, you'll start to earn commissions beginning with your fifth qualifying subscription through the end of the 2025 qualifying period.

      Note

You must meet the unlock threshold every calendar year to earn commissions.

Step 4 - Receive your commissions

Any more qualifying subscriptions referred after you meet the unlock threshold are commission subscriptions. You’ll receive payment for commission subscriptions about 40 days after the end of the month when they become commission subscriptions. For example, if you had a commission subscription in January 2024, you’d receive payment for it in March 2024.

Access your Impact account to find details about your qualifying subscriptions, commissions you earned, and payment timing. Subscriptions won't appear until they've been active for 15 days.

To learn more, visit Qualifying subscriptions and commission amounts.

      Tip

The Squarespace Affiliate Program has its own requirements and eligible Circle members are welcome to apply and participate in both.

      Qualifying subscriptions and commission amounts

For a subscription to qualify, it needs to be:

      • Upgraded after joining Impact
      • On an annual plan at time of first subscription payment
      • Active 15 days after the first subscription payment, and remain on an annual plan in those first 15 days

To learn how to access information about your qualifying subscriptions, visit Reviewing your qualifying subscriptions in Impact

The commission amount depends on the subscription product and plan, and is only paid after you meet the unlock threshold. We don't use referral codes or links for this benefit.

Here's a table of how commission credits are applied.

      Receiving credit FAQs

Here are common scenarios related to receiving referral credits.

      Can I receive credit for…

      Answers

Subscriptions that someone else pays for?

Please review the crediting rules above to determine if the person who pays for the subscription affects which Circle member gets credit.

Website subscriptions that result from trial sites started by someone else?

To receive credit for a website subscription, you need to start the trial with your Squarespace account connected to your Circle email address.

Acuity Scheduling, Digital Product, and Email Campaigns subscriptions attached to an existing website that you didn’t start the website trial for?

You can receive credit for a new Acuity Scheduling, Email Campaigns, or Digital Product subscription that’s attached to an existing Squarespace website, even if you didn’t start the website trial. To learn more, visit Qualifying subscriptions and commission amounts.

Multiple subscriptions on a single Squarespace project?

Yes. You can receive credit for multiple qualifying subscriptions associated with a single Squarespace project.

A site that started on a monthly subscription, then upgraded to an annual subscription?

No. The subscription needs to start as an annual subscription.

      Unfold Pro subscriptions?

      No.

Website, Acuity Scheduling, Digital Product, or Email Campaigns subscriptions started before I registered for an Impact account?

No. You’ll only receive credit for qualifying subscriptions after you register with Impact.

Website or Acuity Scheduling subscriptions started prior to when the payment benefit began in October 2021?

      No.

Email Campaigns and Digital Product plans started prior to October 12, 2022?

      No.

A trial that I started for a client who first landed on squarespace.com via an affiliate partner’s affiliate link?

Yes. If a Circle member starts a trial for a client who first visited squarespace.com via an affiliate link, the Circle member, not the affiliate partner, receives credit for a subsequent qualifying subscription.

The Squarespace Affiliate Program and Circle referral payments are separate programs with their own eligibility requirements and commission structures. Participating in one doesn't automatically make you a participant in the other, though eligible Circle members are welcome to apply and participate in both. To learn more about the programs, visit Squarespace Affiliate Program vs. Squarespace Circle referral payment benefit

Business or Commerce website plan that gives me access to sell digital products, even if I don't purchase the Digital Product plan separately?

No. For a Digital Product plan to count as a qualifying subscription, it must be purchased separately from other Squarespace plans that give you access to digital products.

If I move from a location in the US to a location outside the US?

Yes. To do so, follow these steps:

Squarespace Payments qualifying subscriptions where the client makes their first order in 2026?

No. A Squarespace Payments qualifying subscription only counts if it is enabled and there's been one successful order between September 10, 2024 and December 31, 2025.

Squarespace Payments qualifying subscriptions if the client re-enables Squarespace Payments after trying a different payment processor?

No. You'll only receive credit the first time Squarespace Payments is enabled, so if the client re-enables Squarespace Payments, it won't count as a new qualifying subscription.

If I'm not the site owner for the qualifying website subscription?

Yes. We only look at the Circle member who started the trial.
