Last updated February 29, 2024

If you’re on our Enterprise plan, you can set up single sign-on (SSO) with Microsoft Entra ID, formerly Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). Follow the steps in this guide to set up Microsoft Entra ID for your Squarespace Enterprise organization. This will enable your team to log in through SSO to manage and edit your websites from your Enterprise dashboard.

To set up Microsoft Entra ID as a login method for viewing private sites and pages, visit Setting up single sign-on (SSO) protected sites and pages.

Accessing this feature

This feature is for Enterprise customers only. It's not available for other plan levels.

Supported features

  • SSO (OpenID Connect) initiated from Microsoft Entra ID
  • Custom registrations

Setup

First, you need to add the Squarespace application to your Microsoft Entra ID tenant:

  1. From your Azure portal, navigate to App registrations, then click + New registration
  2. Enter Squarespace in the Name field, then select Accounts in this organizational directory only to decide who can use this application.
  3. Enter https://login.squarespace.com/api/1/login/oauth/third-party/azure/v2/connect/sso in the Redirect URI field.
  4. Click Register

You'll be brought to the app's registration details. Make note of the client ID and tenant ID values. Before returning to Squarespace to finish setup, create a new client secret in your portal's Certificates & secrets setting. For more help adding an application, visit Microsoft’s documentation.

To finish setting up the Microsoft Entra ID SSO instance in Squarespace:

  1. Go to account.squarespace.com. If prompted, log into your account using your business email.
  2. Click Personal in the top-right corner, then select your organization's name from the dropdown menu.
  3. In the top navigation menu, click the Preferences tab.
  4. In the SSO details section, click Add Credentials, then select Microsoft Entra ID from the dropdown menu.
  5. Enter your client ID, client secret, and single sign-on URL. Squarespace uses the tenant ID to create a unique sign-on URL to link from your Microsoft Apps dashboard. The URL will look like https://sts.windows.net/{YOUR_TENANT_ID}, with your tenant ID in place of {YOUR_TENANT_ID}.
  6. Give your SSO login an internal name, then click Save SSO
  7. After setup, the Squarespace app should appear in the Enterprise applications section of your Microsoft Entra ID account. Click the icon to log into Squarespace.

You and your team can also log into Squarespace using the unique sign-on URL, or by entering their email on the Squarespace login page, then clicking Continue with Microsoft Entra ID.

Note

If you can't set up the Microsoft Entra ID integration, you can contact your Squarespace Account Manager for help.

Assign team members

Team members with access to the Squarespace app in Microsoft Entra ID can log in to Squarespace, but won't automatically have access to any websites. Learn how to edit and manage your team’s access with your Enterprise organization dashboard.

After you set up SSO, if a team member already has a Squarespace account with their Microsoft email, they can only log in through SSO.

Custom registrations

After setup, you can log into the Squarespace app by visiting https://myapps.microsoft.com and clicking the Squarespace icon.

You can customize this link and create a unique sign-in URL. To learn more about creating a custom registration, visit Microsoft's documentation.

Note

If you customize the link, you may need to update your SSO configuration. If so, contact us so we can help you with this process.
