Checking your billing subscriptions

Review the billing details for your different Squarespace services.

Last updated December 17, 2024

This guide shows how to check billing subscriptions for the following Squarespace services:

Tip

To avoid interruption of service, set your subscriptions to renew automatically.

Understanding independent billing subscriptions

Squarespace subscriptions are independent from each other. This means that canceling one subscription doesn’t automatically cancel other subscriptions.

For example, if you cancel a website subscription, any domain subscriptions you have remain active. You need to cancel the domain subscription separately.

Similarly, if you have multiple sites on your account, changing the billing plan of one won't cancel the others. To act on multiple site subscriptions, repeat steps to change or cancel a subscription for each additional site.

Note

An exception to independent billing subscriptions are grouped domains. If you have multiple Squarespace domains, the billing information of your domains may be grouped, meaning the payment information of your domains are linked. Changing the payment information of one domain affects all domains in the group.

If your domains are grouped, you'll see a message letting you know when updating the payment information of a domain. To manage the payment information of a domain separately, ungroup your domain.

Website subscription and cycle

Each active Squarespace site has its own website subscription. If auto-renew is enabled, this subscription renews either monthly or annually.

To check your current billing plan and cycle:

  1. Open the Billing panel.
  2. Under Subscriptions, click Website, Store, or Squarespace, depending on your plan.

In the Website billing panel, you can view:

  • Online since - The date you subscribed to this plan
  • Payment - The payment method on file for your account
  • Next payment and Payment due - Renewal charge amount and due date
  • Plan - Your current billing plan title and billing cycle (pay monthly or annually)
  • Renew automatically - Use the toggle to turn auto-renew on or off

Expired websites on your Account Dashboard display other active subscriptions remaining on the site, such as custom domains or Email Campaigns.

  1. Open your domains dashboard.
