As we continue to build and develop our templates, we occasionally discontinue some in order to focus on improving the templates that benefit customers the most.
What will happen to my site if I'm using a discontinued template?
Nothing. Your site will stay online, and you can continue to use and edit the template as you've always been able to.
Can I still get help from Squarespace?
Yes. Customer Care will continue to help you with your site and answer any questions you have. You'll also receive system-wide updates and improvements such as new page types, blocks, and settings.
Discontinued templates are no longer developed and improved with new design features. The only exception is the templates that are part of an active family: Bryler, Lincoln, and Taylor.
Discontinued templates may receive our latest features and functionality, as well as fixes for any critical issue that may arise. However, this is not guaranteed for every template we've retired.
Do I need to switch to a different template?
You can switch to a different template if you want. You're also welcome to continue using the discontinued template. As long as you don't uninstall it, you can even switch back to the discontinued template after trying a new template.
Tip: If you're using Marquee, Adversary, Alex, Eamon, Ginger, Mint, or Shift, see our tips for switching to the Brine family.
Can I use a discontinued template?
A discontinued template can't be used if the template isn't already installed on your site. It also can't be selected when creating a new site.
