Changing your Digital Products plan

Upgrade or downgrade your Digital Products plan.

Last updated September 4, 2024

This guide covers changing your Digital Products billing plan and cycle, both of which you can do at any time.

Site owners and contributors with Admin or Billing permissions can make these changes.

Tip

All Squarespace plans (such as websites, domains, Email Campaigns, and Digital Products) are independent from each other, and each payment has its own billing cycle and invoice. Learn more in Checking your billing subscriptions.

Before you begin

  • We charge the same card for all payments to Squarespace. To change this card before changing your billing plan, first update the card on file in the Billing panel of your website, then follow the steps in this guide.
  • To change your plan and billing cycle, change your plan first, and then return to the Billing panel to change your billing cycle. You can't change your plan and billing cycle at the same time.
  • If your payment is past due, update your card on file first.
  • You can't move a Digital Products billing plan to a different site.

Note

When you change your plan or billing cycle, you may be charged the prorated difference.

Timing and pricing of billing cycle changes

Review the sections below to learn more about how we time and determine your new charge amount when changing billing cycles.

If you switched to monthly billing

If you switch from annual to monthly billing, you’ll start a new billing cycle. You won’t be charged your new plan’s pricing until the start of your new monthly billing cycle.

If you switched to annual billing

If you switch from monthly to annual billing, you’ll start a new billing cycle. You’ll be charged immediately for your new billing cycle. The invoice will be a prorated charge based on the cost of the unused time from the month subtracted from the cost of the annual plan.

Timing and pricing of plan changes

Changing your plan will affect your transaction fees and video storage limits. You may want to review the Digital Product plans before changing.

Downgrade your plan

If you downgrade your plan, you’ll keep your current plan’s transaction fees and video storage limits until the end of your current billing cycle. You’ll be charged your new plan’s pricing at the start of your new billing cycle. Your billing cycle and renewal date won’t change.

Upgrade your plan

If you upgrade your plan, you’ll be charged the prorated difference between the two plans based on the remaining time in your billing cycle. You’ll immediately switch to your new plan’s transaction fees and video storage limit. Your billing cycle and renewal date won’t change.
