Member sign up blocks

Use member sign up blocks to give visitors a place to sign up for memberships to your member areas. Add a member sign up block to any page, blog post, or content area on your site where you want to promote a member area, or create a single page with multiple blocks where visitors can compare and contrast all membership options.

Before you begin

Note: While you can add a member sign up block to your site after enabling Member Areas, you’ll need to choose a pricing plan and subscribe to this add-on to sell memberships to your site visitors.

Add a member sign up block

To add a member sign up block:

  1. Edit a page or post, click an insert point, and choose Member Sign Up from the block menu. For help, visit Adding content with blocks.
  2. In the Content tab, select one of your member areas from the Choose a Member Area drop-down menu.
  3. Click the Design tab to set the block's alignment and edit what details appear in the block.
  4. You can replace the default Button Text for the join button to match the tone of your site.

Alternatively, you can add a new page to your site using one of our professionally designed Member Areas page layouts. These pages feature different combinations of text, images, and member sign up blocks to promote your gated content. After you add the page, customize the member sign up blocks following the steps above.

Edit member area details

In the design tab of the member sign up block, choose which member area details appear in the block by switching the toggle on or off for these options:

  • Title
  • Description
  • Fee
  • Join Button

If you disable Fee, we recommend adding the membership fee to the member area’s description, so prospective members know what to expect at checkout.

You can’t hide the fee option picker that appears in the member sign up block for a member area that has two fee options.

Tip: To edit the member area’s title, description, or price, go to your member area settings.

Style the member sign up block

You can style the member sign up block and customize the join button and fee option picker (if applicable). The way you change the block's design depends on your site's version.

Member sign up block font

The member area description and price take their style from your site's site-wide fonts, and follow the Paragraph tweaks. The title follows the same tweaks, but appears slightly larger.

  1. While editing the page, open site styles.
  2. Click Fonts, then click Paragraph

The member area description and price use the same style as your body text. The title follows the same tweaks, but appears slightly larger.

Button font and design

To style the join button:

  1. Open a page containing a member sign up block
  2. Click Edit, open site styles, then click Buttons.

To change the text that displays in the join button, edit the member sign up block, and change the Button Text. The button's text follows the Buttons font tweaks:

  1. While editing the page, open site styles.
  2. Click Fonts, then click Buttons.
  3. Style the button font using the first section of tweaks. The size of the text in the join button follows the medium button tweaks.

Fee option picker design

If your member area has two fee options, a fee option picker appears above the member area’s title.

The fee option picker’s font and style follow the Buttons tweaks, while the size of the text follows your font’s base size. You can’t change the Padding of the text in the fee option picker.

The fee option picker’s style and font follow the Buttons tweaks.

The fee option picker automatically displays the two available options. The text for each option is either the number of payments (for set amount fees) or renewal frequency (for recurring fees). There isn't a way to customize this text.
