Canceling your Digital Products plan

Options to deactivate your Digital Products plan.

Last updated December 17, 2024

You can end your Digital Products plan at any time. This guide explains how to cancel your plan, and steps to take as you prepare to cancel.

Accessing this feature

You must have Admin or Billing permissions to cancel a Digital Product plan.

Prepare members before canceling

If you cancel your Digital Products plan or let it expire, you’ll lose access to the Members list in the Lists & Segments panel. Without this list, you can’t filter member contacts by pricing plan. We recommend exporting all member contacts to a .csv file before you end your Digital Products plan so you can personally email members to explain the change.

Members who purchased a membership to any pricing plan with a recurring subscription or fixed amount membership will still appear in the Customers filter. Members who subscribed to an email campaigns mailing list will show in the Subscriber filter.

Cancel a Digital Products plan

You can cancel your Digital Products billing plan at any time. There are two ways to cancel:

  • Option 1 - Cancel your Digital Products billing plan immediately
  • Option 2 - Disable auto-renew to let your Digital Products plan expire at the end of the current billing cycle

At this time, it’s only possible to manage your Digital Products plan from a computer.

Option 1 - Cancel your plan

This option cancels your Digital Products plan immediately and you won't receive a refund for the remaining time on your billing cycle. After canceling, your Digital Products transaction fee will increase to 9%, and your video storage limit for newly uploaded videos will decrease to 30 minutes.

To cancel your Digital Products plan:

  1. Open the Billing panel.
  2. Under Subscriptions, click Digital Products.
  3. Click Cancel subscription.
  4. In the Confirm your cancellation panel, click Confirm cancellation.

Option 2 - Turn off auto-renew

This option sets your Digital Products plan to expire at the end of its current billing cycle. At the end of the billing cycle, your transaction fee will increase to 9%, and your video storage limit for newly uploaded videos will decrease to 30 minutes.

To turn off auto-renew:

  1. Open the Billing panel.
  2. Under Subscriptions, click Digital Products.
  3. Switch the Renew automatically toggle off.

30-day pause state

If you cancel your site subscription or it expires, your Digital Products go into a paused state for 30 days.

During this 30-day pause state:

  • Your pricing plans remain in the Digital Products section of the Products panel.
  • No new visitors can subscribe to your pricing plans. If a visitor to your site clicks on a digital product block, they'll encounter an error message.
  • Subscribers will still have access to their customer accounts, but can’t view navigation links to gated content.
  • When subscribers review their memberships, each member site will be listed under an Inactive memberships header.
  • Future charges for subscription membership pricing will be stopped and the Renewal date for all subscription memberships will be set to Paused.

After 30 days:

  • Your site visitors' subscriptions are canceled; however, your pricing plans will remain on the site. Your customers will receive a cancellation email, notifying them of this change.

Refunds

We issue a full refund automatically on annual subscriptions that are canceled within 14 days of the initial subscription. Annual subscriptions canceled after the first 14 days and all monthly subscriptions aren’t eligible for a refund. To learn more, visit Refund policies.

Resubscribe to Digital Products

To resubscribe to Digital Products:

  1. Open the Billing panel.
  2. Click Select plan at the bottom of the Products panel.

If you’re still in the 30-day pause state after your subscription ends, and you resubscribe, all of your pricing plans, subscribers, and settings will be automatically reinstated. Your subscribers are also charged for any pay periods that occurred while Digital Products was paused.

If you resubscribe after the 30-day pause, when your Digital Products plan officially ends, your customers will need to go through the signup process again since their subscriptions were canceled.
