Email customers when a sold out product is back in stock.

Enable product waitlists to notify interested shoppers when sold-out products are back in stock. After you enable waitlist signups, shoppers can submit their email address on the product details page when the product is sold out. Product waitlists display on product details pages only.

Waitlists are available in the Core, Plus, Advanced, Commerce Basic, and Commerce Advanced plans. To learn more, visit Choosing the right Squarespace plan.

• In version 7.1, waitlists are available on all sites.
• In version 7.0, waitlists are only available on sites with advanced store pages.
• Waitlists only display for physical and service products.

Enable product waitlists

To enable product waitlists on Squarespace versions 7.1 and 7.0:

1. Open the Waitlists panel.
2. Click .
3. Switch the Allow Waitlist Signups toggle on.
4. If you also want shoppers to subscribe to the mailing list you've set up for checkout, switch the Allow mailing list signups toggle on.

To customize the signup text on the product details page:

1. Click Signup Button.
2. Click a field to customize the text.
3. Click Save.

Keep in mind:

• The waitlist signup option won't appear if your variants display as buttons.
• The waitlist signup option displays on the product details page only when a sold out variant is selected.
• Waitlists display on all sold out products. It's not possible to limit them to specific products.
• With waitlists enabled, sold out labels won't display in variant drop-down menus.

View email and waitlists

In the Waitlists panel, you can view the name of each product variant with a waitlist, the number of signups, and the individual email addresses that are signed up. It's not possible to export this list.

All sold out product variants with waitlists display in the Not in Stock tab. After you replenish your inventory, the waitlist moves to the Back In Stock tab. You can only email the waitlist for in stock products.

To email the waitlist:

1. Click the product.
2. Click Email all.

After you send the email, the waitlist will be removed from the panel. It’s not possible to view sent emails or former waitlist signups.

Customize the waitlist email

To view and edit the default waitlist email:

1. Open the Waitlists panel, then click .
2. Click Email.
3. Edit the email subject line, title, and body.
4. To change the product details, edit the product. The button follows changes you make to the Add to cart button.
5. Click Save.

Google reCAPTCHA

To help reduce spam, Google reCAPTCHA is automatically enabled for your product waitlist signup field. This is an invisible security feature that helps prevent submissions by robots. To learn more, visit Adding Google reCAPTCHA to forms.

Disable product waitlists

To remove the waitlist signup from sold out products:

1. Open the Waitlists panel.
2. Tap .
3. Switch the toggle off beside Allow Waitlist signups.

Existing waitlists will be removed from the panel. They’ll reappear if you enable waitlists again in the future. It's not possible to delete waitlist subscribers.
