Using Video Studio with other Squarespace services

Accessing this feature

We no longer offer support for the Video Studio app and it no longer possible to download the app from the App Store. This will not affect your access to the app if you already have it downloaded. If you would like to continue creating promotional videos for your brand or business, you can do so from the Marketing Kit in the Squarespace app.

With the Squarespace Video Studio mobile iOS app, you can create professional quality videos that match the design and branding of your Squarespace site. You can then upload the videos to your website or social media platforms to engage your visitors, grow your audience, and drive sales.

This guide offers examples of how Video Studio integrates with other Squarespace services. Using a combination of services can provide a more comprehensive and engaging experience for your visitors.

Add videos pages to your site

Upload your video projects to videos pages to create a browsable library of videos on your site.

If your site is on version 7.1, you can host videos on Squarespace by uploading your Video Studio videos directly to your videos pages.

If your site is on 7.0, or you’d prefer not to host videos on Squarespace, you can upload your video to a third party video host. You can then embed the videos onto your site.

To learn more about all your options, visit Adding videos to your site.

Video Studio and Commerce

If you have a Commerce site, use Video Studio to create promotional videos, or advertise an upcoming promotion or sale. Doing so can provide a more comprehensive view of your products or services.

You can upload your video to your site or to social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook.

You can also provide additional information for products by adding Video Blocks in the Additional Info section of the product editor. To learn more about adding Video blocks to your site, visit Video blocks.

Monetize your videos using Digital Products

You can generate revenue for your site by creating an exclusive library of videos. Your visitors can pay for a membership to get exclusive access to your gated content.

To learn more about Digital Products, visit Getting started with Digital Products.

Upload videos to your Unfold app

With Unfold, you can create unique stories and other content to share on social media platforms.

After exporting your Video Studio projects, you can add them from your device anywhere you can add images in Unfold.

To learn more about importing guidelines and how to add/edit videos in Unfold, visit Adding videos to your stories.

Post your videos to social media platforms

After exporting a video project, you can upload it to your social media platforms.

We recommend reviewing the video file requirements to ensure your videos will work on your social media platforms:

Using Video Studio to promote Scheduling services

If you have an Acuity Scheduling subscription, you can use Video Studio to create videos to illustrate how to book appointments with you, and what visitors can expect when they book your services for the first time.

To learn more about Acuity Scheduling, visit Acuity Scheduling FAQ.

Note that you need a Squarespace website subscription to use Video Studio.

Linking to your video content in Email Campaigns

If you have a Squarespace Email Campaigns subscription, you can link to your uploaded Video Studio content in your Email Campaigns.

To learn more about adding links to Email Campaigns, visit, Adding content to Email Campaigns.

Limitations

When using Videos Pages, you can upload up to 30 minutes of video to your site. If you reach the limit, sign up for a Digital Products plan for more storage, or delete videos to free up storage space.

It’s also important to note that different social media platforms all shorten videos to different lengths. Depending on the length of your video, it may be shortened when sharing your story to social media.

Instagram

The maximum length for videos on Instagram stories is 15 seconds. If you share a longer video, it will be shortened to 15 seconds.

To share the full video, save the story to your device, then upload it to Instagram from your device. The full video will be split into 15-second segments.

Snapchat

The maximum length for videos on Snapchat stories is 10 seconds. If you share a longer video, it will be shortened to 10 seconds.

Video looping

Videos shorter than the maximum length for social media stories will loop to fill the maximum length by default. To disable this, tap the loop icon on the video to set it to play only once.
