Folder display by template

In any template you can create a drop-down menu by adding pages or links to a folder. How the folder displays depends on your template.

Use this guide to see how folders display in these template families.

Computer display

In most templates, the folder's links appear when you hover over the folder. In some templates, the menu of links only appears when you click the folder.

Some folders include an icon next to the folder name to encourage visitors to view the menu.

Clicking the folder

In most templates, clicking the folder title causes its menu of links to expand.

In the following template families, clicking the folder title while in computer view opens the first page in the folder:

  • Bedford
  • Brine
  • Farro
  • Flatiron
  • Pacific

In the following templates, clicking the folder title while in mobile view opens the first page in the folder:

  • Momentum
  • Wells
Note: There's no built-in way to make a folder title link to a page, but it could probably be accomplished using custom code. This topic has come up on our Answers forum for customers and developers, and you can view the post here for more information and example code. We only recommend this if you feel comfortable using HTML and CSS, as we can't provide code solutions or support.

Background color

Many templates display a background color behind the folder drop-downs links. In most templates, this color matches another element on your site, such as the header background or site background.

Use the list below to find Site Styles tweak for the folder background color on your template. Keep in mind that these tweaks may adjust other elements on your site. For more information, visit your template's Structure and style guide.
