Why can’t I find the font I want to use?
Each font menu displays a curated selection of fonts from Typekit and Google Fonts, sorted by type. You can see this selection by scrolling through the font list.
If the font you want isn't in the curated list, scroll to the bottom and click Show All Fonts to browse our full library of 1600 fonts. You can also use the search field at the top of the menu to search for a specific font name.
If you still don’t see the font you need, you can add a custom font by using our integration with Typekit. To learn more, visit Using Typekit with Squarespace.
Why is the Style Editor different after switching templates?
The Style Editor is unique for each template, as different templates offer different features. When you preview or set a new live template, you’ll only see the style tweaks available in that template. Your fonts, colors, spacing, and other styles will revert to your new template's defaults.

Can I revert to previous style changes?
Yes, but only in some cases.
If you're in the Style Editor making changes and haven't clicked Save, you can undo any recent changes by clicking the undo icon the top of the panel or by clicking the dot next to a specific tweak.
After clicking Save, you can still cancel the save by clicking the undo icon before leaving the panel.
After clicking Save and leaving the Style panel, all changes are permanent. It’s not possible to revert to a previous version unless you reset to defaults.
However, if you switch templates and then switch back to a previously used template, you'll see all style changes as you last left them in that template.
I changed fonts and my text doesn't look right.
This may be a result of a formatting issue in the Text Block that you can fix. If you pasted text from another source, you can accidentally copy over formatting that interferes with the settings you enable in the Style Editor.
To avoid this, we recommend creating and formatting content directly in Text Blocks whenever possible. To learn more, visit Fixing text formatting.
How do I go back to my template’s original style?
- In the Home Menu, click Design, and then click Style Editor.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Style Editor and click Reset Styles to Defaults.
- Review the confirmation message, and click Reset.
- After saving the Style Editor, your template will reset to its default styles.
What if I don’t see the change I want to make?
Before navigating to the Style Editor, choose the page you’d like to edit from your Pages panel. This ensures that you see all style options relevant to that page type. For example, if no text on the page uses Heading 3 formatting, the Heading 3 style option won't appear in the Style Editor.
If you still don’t see the style option you’re looking for, you can make additional style changes using CSS. We recommend having a good knowledge of CSS before attempting this. For more information, visit Using the CSS Editor.
I'm in the Style Editor, and I can't edit a page.
Site editing is disabled when the Style Editor is open. To add or remove content, close the Style Editor and open the Pages panel.
Can I set different styles for each page?
Each style tweak applies site-wide, wherever that element appears. This keeps your site's design clean and consistent.
For example, if you change the font and color of your Heading 1, all Heading 1s on your site will change. Similarly, any style changes to body text, buttons, page titles, social icons, etc. will apply across all pages on your site. It isn't possible to vary these site-wide tweaks by page without custom code.
