Scheduling blocks

Enable visitors to book time directly on your Acuity scheduling page.

Last updated January 27, 2025

Use scheduling blocks to display your Acuity scheduling page so visitors can book appointments without leaving your site.

You'll need an Acuity account to use this block. To learn more and sign up through your Squarespace site, visit Getting Started with Acuity Scheduling. If you use Acuity as a standalone offering or separate from Squarespace, you can use this block to display your scheduler on your site. This guide covers both options.

Tip

Register for our Acuity Scheduling webinar series where we'll teach you how to use Acuity. The How to Start Scheduling webinar is ideal if you’re new to Acuity. The Preparing to Book webinar explains how to perfect your scheduler. The Boost your bookings webinar goes over features that help increase revenue and client retention.

Acuity Scheduling as a standalone offering

To display a calendar from an Acuity account not linked to a Squarespace website or separate from Squarespace, first copy your scheduler URL:

  1. In your Acuity account, click Scheduling Page Link in the sidebar.
  2. Copy the link beneath General Scheduling Page to embed your scheduling page or use the Direct Links & Embedding section to find the link to a scheduler for a specific calendar, appointment type, category, or more. To learn more about direct linking, visit Direct links in Acuity Scheduling.

When you have the URL ready, add a scheduling block to any page:

  1. Edit a page or post, click an insert point, and select Scheduling from the menu. For help, visit Adding content with blocks.
  2. Open the block editor by clicking the pencil icon or Edit on the block.
  3. From the drop-down menu, choose Custom Link.
  4. Paste your URL in the Acuity Scheduling Page Link field.
  5. If your site is on version 7.0, click Apply.

Edit a scheduling block

To edit a scheduling block that's already on a page:

  1. Edit the page that holds your scheduling block.
  2. Click on the scheduling block, then open the block editor by clicking the pencil icon.
  3. Make the changes you want, then click Save.

Password protect scheduling

If you want to limit who can schedule with you through your website, add a page password to the page with your scheduling block. This way, only visitors with the password can use your scheduling block.

Alternatively, to make your booking exclusive to site members, add Member Sites to your site, then add the page with your scheduling block to your gated content.

FAQ

Can I change the design?

Yes. You can customize the design of your scheduling page in the scheduling panel:

  1. In Acuity, click Customize Appearance.
  2. Click Scheduling Page Options.
  3. Use the checkboxes to customize the appearance, using the live preview on the right as a guide.

To learn more about the pieces of information that appear on your scheduler, visit Elements of a scheduler. To learn more about styling a scheduler, visit Choosing scheduler templates.

Does Squarespace charge transaction fees for bookings?

No. Scheduling blocks are separate from Commerce, so purchases aren't subject to Squarespace Commerce transaction fees.

Can I use the scheduling block with the free Acuity Scheduling plan?

If you use an Acuity account separate from Squarespace, the basic, free plan (“Freebie”) doesn’t support embedded calendars. To use scheduling blocks, you’ll need to upgrade to a paid plan.

All Acuity Scheduling plans in Squarespace support the scheduling block.

Can I remove "Powered by Acuity Scheduling?"

Accessing this feature

If you’re on the Powerhouse plan or higher, you can remove the "Powered by Acuity Scheduling" text from scheduling blocks.

  2. Click Scheduling Page Options.
  3. Select Hide "Powered By Acuity Scheduling" On Client's Scheduling Page.
  4. Click Save Changes.
