Digital product and pricing plan analytics

View your analytics to learn more about your digital product customers.

Learn about the popularity of your pricing plans by regularly reviewing their data in analytics. This guide covers how data in the analytics panels applies to digital products and pricing plans.

If you offer free pricing plans, sales, sales by product, and purchase funnel analytics don’t reflect customers that sign up for those plans. Free pricing plans skip the checkout process.

When visitors sign up for a pricing plan or navigate to gated pages, these actions are reflected in Squarespace analytics. Regardless of your website plan, you’ll have access to each analytics panel listed below.

Sales analytics

All six sales analytics key performance indicators (RevenueOrder, Checkouts, Conv. Rate, AOV, and RPV) include data for pricing plan sales. The data in this panel includes ‌revenue from recurring subscription and fixed-amount pricing plan payments.

Sales by product analytics

Sales by product analytics lists each pricing plan you sell, along with values for Revenue and Orders for each. Every time a visitor pays for a pricing plan, the revenue you take in from recurring subscription or fixed-amount payments appears in this panel.

The Views and Conv. rate columns are always blank, as these KPIs only apply to products.

Purchase funnel analytics

Visitors who explore your digital products and pay for a pricing plan are included in the Visits, Started Checkout, and Purchased stages of the purchase funnel. Pricing plan purchases are excluded from the Viewed product and Added to cart stages, as these steps aren’t a part of the purchase flow for pricing plans.

Subsequent charges for pricing plans (either recurring subscription or installments) aren’t included in purchase funnel analytics.

Traffic sources analytics

Learn where visitors to your site are coming from before they sign-up for one of your pricing plans. This panel also includes detailed sales information, such as Revenue generated by each traffic source.

Site content analytics

Your blog pages, course pages, videos pages, and member site pages appear in the Site Content panel. Review how popular your digital products are, and how many pageviews they get compared to the rest of your site. A visitor must have signed up to your pricing plan to count as a pageview. Views to paywalls don't count toward pageview tracking.
