You can connect your personal LinkedIn profile to your Squarespace site. This allows you to add a social icon that links to your LinkedIn profile and push content from your site to your LinkedIn profile.
This is a great option if you're using Squarespace to build a resume, portfolio, or company site.
Step 1 - Connect your LinkedIn account
Depending on your plan:
- In the Home Menu, click Settings, and then click Connected Accounts.
- In the Home Menu, click Social Icons, and then click Connected Accounts. (Cover Pages)
Click Connect Account.
In the Connected Accounts menu, select LinkedIn, and log in using your LinkedIn username and password.
To connect LinkedIn to your Squarespace site, you'll need to authorize Squarespace to post to your LinkedIn page. By skipping these permissions, LinkedIn won't properly connect to your site.
Step 2 - Display a LinkedIn social icon
You can add a LinkedIn social icon that links to your LinkedIn profile.
In Connected Accounts Settings, click your LinkedIn account to open LinkedIn Settings. Ensure Show Social Icon is checked.
Note: The Profile URL is automatically set to lead to your LinkedIn profile.
Note: After connecting LinkedIn to Squarespace in this step, the social icon will automatically display in most templates, but not all of them. You can also add social icons using the Social Links Block. Learn how these icons display in your template in our template guides.
Step 3 - Push content to LinkedIn
You can share blog posts and gallery images on your personal LinkedIn profile. In the Blog Post or Image Editor, click the Social tab to view the push options for the post or image.
Note: We currently support pushing content to personal LinkedIn profiles only. Pushing content to a company page or business account isn't supported. To share content on your company's LinkedIn page, you can post the link manually in LinkedIn.
Next to your LinkedIn profile, switch the Social toggle to on. You can customize the information (URL, Title, Author) that pushes to LinkedIn by adding text and variables to the field. View the formatting variables by hovering over the ?.
When you publish the post or save the image, this will automatically push it to LinkedIn.
