Set up an email address with your existing Office 365 account and custom Squarespace domain.

You can use Office 365 to set up custom email addresses using the same Squarespace domain that you use with your site.

For help migrating your email or contacts from from another email provider to Office 365, visit Microsoft's documentation.

Tip: If you don't have email for your domain yet, we recommend signing up for Google Workspace through Squarespace instead of Office 365. With Google Workspace, you can get custom email addresses for your domains, billed directly through Squarespace. You'll also get access to other Google Workspace features like Google Calendar and Google Drive.

Before you begin

• You need an existing account with Office 365.
• You need to have a custom Squarespace domain. If you're using a third-party custom domain, contact your domain provider for help adding Office 365.
• Your domain can't already be connected to Google Workspace or another custom email account.
• If you need help using your Google Workspace email with Microsoft Apps for Business, you'll need to reach out to Google.

Step 1- Add a verification TXT record

After you've signed up with Microsoft 365, you'll need to verify that you own the domain by adding a TXT record to the domain. You can add custom DNS records to your domain from your domains dashboard. For details on how to add a verification record, visit Microsoft's documentation.

For help adding custom DNS records to your Squarespace domain, visit Adding custom DNS records to your Squarespace-managed domain.

Note: It usually takes 30 to 45 minutes for any DNS changes to process, but it can sometimes take 24 to 48 hours.

Step 2: Add DNS records to connect Microsoft services

You need to add different types of DNS records to your domain depending on the Microsoft services you want to enable. For example, to use Outlook or Exchange Online, you need to add an MX record.

For details on what records to add and how to add them, follow the steps in Microsoft's documentation. For help adding custom DNS records to your Squarespace domain, visit DNS records for email.
