Removing the "www" from your domain

You can remove the "www" from your domain in the Domains panel. A domain without the "www" is called a "naked domain."

By default, all Squarespace Domains come with the "www" and naked domains automatically linked. If visitors type "yourdomain.com," they'll be taken to your domain, and the "www.yourdomain.com" will appear. If you don't want the "www" to appear at all, this guide shows how to remove it.

Note: You can only adjust the "www" on your primary domain.

Adjust a Squarespace Domain

In the Home Menu, click Settings, and then click Domains.

You can also press the ? key while any panel is open and search domains.

Click the domain you're editing. It should have a Primary label.

From the Primary Domain drop-down, select the naked version of your domain.

It can take between 24 and 72 hours for this change to process. After this point, your naked domain will appear in the address bar whenever someone visits your site.

Adjust a third-party domain

In the Home Menu, click Settings, and then click Domains.

You can also press the ? key while any panel is open and search domains.

Click the domain you're editing. It should have a Primary label.

Uncheck Use WWW Prefix.

It can take between 24 and 72 hours for this change to process. After this point, your naked domain will appear in the address bar whenever someone visits your site.
