Removing "Powered by Squarespace" from your site

The "Powered by Squarespace" text that comes with your template is optional, and you're welcome to remove it by following this guide. You can also add or remove a separate Squarespace Badge, which is a small Squarespace logo.

In most templates, "Powered by Squarespace" is a Text Block in the footer. Follow these steps to remove it:

  1. Hover over the footer and click Edit.
Tip: If you don't see the Edit annotation, collapse the site preview by clicking the arrow in the top-left corner, or press Esc. Annotations aren't available while in Site Styles.

  1. To replace the text with your own content, you can add new blocks. For detailed steps on customizing your footer, visit Editing footers.
  2. Click Save to publish your changes.

Remove the Powered by Squarespace navigation link

Powered by Squarespace Scheduling

Squarespace Badge

In addition to the "Powered by Squarespace" text, you can add a small Squarespace logo at the top or bottom of your site called a Squarespace Badge. When a visitor hovers over it or taps it on a mobile device, a "Powered by Squarespace" animation appears.

To add the Squarespace Badge:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Design, and then click Squarespace Badge.
  2. Select Enable Squarespace Badge (White) or Enable Squarespace Badge (Black) from the drop-down menu.
  3. Using the drop-down menus that appear, select the badge's position on your site, when it shows (always or only when scrolled to the bottom), and if it shows on computers and/or mobile devices.
  4. Click Save.

To remove the Squarespace Badge:

  1. In the Home Menu, click Design, and then click Squarespace Badge.
  2. In the first drop-down menu, select Disable Squarespace Badge.
  3. Click Save.
