Advanced Settings

In Advanced Settings, you can make changes to your site that you don't need to do often, such as:

  • Set custom 404 Error / Page Not Found page
  • Import image metadata
  • Create URL redirects

Some Advanced Setting options, including Code Injection, Developer Mode, and Amazon integrations, are Premium features available in the current Website Business plan and higher:

  • Available in: Business and Commerce plans
  • Available in: Personal plan for websites active before December 1, 2017
  • Not available in: Personal plan for websites active after December 1, 2017
  • Trial: Available during a trial.

Go to Advanced Settings

In the Home menu, click Settings, and then click Advanced.

404 Error / Page Not Found

Select a page in your site to act as your 404 Error / Page Not Found page, instead of using the System Default.

Default text editor

By default, new pages display one blank Text Block. If you use Markdown to add content, you can change this so that new pages display an empty Markdown Block instead.

Escape key

Pressing Esc on your keyboard while viewing your site opens the login page.

You can disable this shortcut by unchecking Enable Login with Escape Key.

Import / Export

You can import content from:

  • WordPress
  • Tumblr
  • Squarespace
  • Shopify
  • Big Cartel
  • Etsy

External services

External Services allows you to connect your Google Analytics and Amazon Associate accounts.

Developer Mode

You can enable Developer Mode to use custom code to build a custom template.

Note: Switching to Developer Mode replaces your current template with an editable developer template. To edit your developer template, you'll need to use Git or SFTP to connect and edit your HTML. In addition, your template will no longer receive updates and bug fixes added by our team.

Code Injection

Code Injection allows you to add custom and third party scripts and HTML into your header, footer, lock screen, and Order Confirmation page.

URL Mappings

URL Mappings allow you to redirect away from pages that no longer exist to pages to do exist.

Image EXIF/IPTC importing

When you check Enable Image Metadata Importing, some EXIF/IPTC metadata imports when you upload images and are added as titles, descriptions, captions, and tags.
