Adding a statement descriptor in Stripe

Customize the information that appears on your customers' credit card statements.

After a customer places an order on your site with a credit card or Apple Pay, Stripe sends basic information about your business and the purchase to your customer's bank. Depending on the format their bank uses, a combination of the following identifiers will appear on your customer's bank statement:

  • Your business name
  • Your site URL
  • Your business location
  • Your phone number

You can customize the text that appears on your customers' credit card statements by editing the statement descriptor in your Stripe account settings.

Edit the statement descriptor

To edit the statement descriptor:

  1. Log into your Stripe account.
  2. Click the .
  3. Click Public details.
  4. Scroll to the Public business information section.
  5. In the Statement descriptor field, enter your statement descriptor. We recommend using a word or phrase that's short and recognizable, such as your business name or domain name. 
  6. Click Save.
