Share your trial site with others without giving them editing permissions.

Squarespace trial sites are private by default, and can only be accessed by site owners and contributors. Other visitors see the owner login page. Since your trial site isn’t indexed by search engines, people typically won’t find it unless you intentionally share a direct link.

If you want to share your site while it’s on a trial, you can add a site-wide password. When your site is password-protected, it’s still hidden from search engines, but visitors can enter the password to open your site.

Note: If you started a Squarespace trial before December 3, 2018, your trial site may have previously used a CAPTCHA for visitor access. We recently updated our site availability options for all sites and eliminated the CAPTCHA. All trials are now private by default and visitor access is optional. Owner login

Enter your site's URL in a browser. You can find this URL in the "Welcome to Squarespace" email we sent when you started your trial.

Click log in.

Log in using your login credentials. For other login methods, visit Logging into Squarespace.

Visitor access

Adding a password to your site is a great way to share your content with friends and family without giving them editing permissions.

A password can also be useful for site owners because it lets you view and test your trial site across multiple platforms as a regular visitor. To learn more, visit Using a site-wide password.

Tip: If you want to share your trial with someone without setting or distributing a password, invite them as a contributor with Viewer permissions.

After you set a password, you can share your trial site with others by sending them your built-in domain. Ensure the built-in domain you send doesn't have /config at the end. You can find your built-in domain in your browser's address bar while logged in to your site.
