TLD Registry Registration Information Sharing Consent

Last updated February 7, 2025

In order to register your domain name(s) and provide you with related domains services, the domain registrar for the domain name is registered at (e.g., Squarespace Domains LLC, Tucows, Inc.) is required to share required domain registration information with the respective TLD registry provider.

Squarespace provides free Whois privacy to most Squarespace-managed domains, except certain country-code TLDs. Our Whois privacy feature keeps your personal information safe, hides your domain ownership information, and protects you from unwanted spam. No action is needed to hide your domain ownership information from the public.

You can turn off Whois privacy in your domains dashboard. This is entirely optional. When you disable Whois privacy, you’re consenting to your domain registrar sharing your domain registration information with your domain’s TLD registry, in addition to the required domain registration information. Such additional domain registration information may only be shared with your consent. By disabling Whois privacy, you’re giving your consent to your domain’s TLD registry to receive and make some or all of your domain registration information public in the Whois record.
