Adding social sharing images

Include images in your posts to drive traffic to your site.

Last updated January 9, 2025

Social sharing images may display on social networks (like Facebook) or in text messaging applications when you share a URL from your site. While it's optional, adding social sharing images is a good way to influence how social posts linking to your site look, even if the page you're sharing doesn't include images.

There are two types of social sharing images:

  • Social sharing logo - Represents your whole site.
  • Alternate Social Sharing Image - Represents individual pages or collection items, like blog posts, products, events, and portfolio sub-pages. Not currently available for gallery images or album tracks.

To learn how we help social networks surface the correct image to display depending on the link you're sharing, visit How content displays in social posts.

Before you begin

Images shared on Facebook must be at least 200px x 200px. However, Facebook changes their preferred image sizes frequently. If your image appears cropped, we recommend experimenting with image sizes for current best practices. For more help, visit Facebook's documentation.

To add a social sharing logo:

  1. Open the Social Sharing panel.
  2. Click + to upload an image or select from your library, or click and drag your image into the uploader.
  3. Click Save.
