This error in your account dashboard can mean we tried sending you a billing-related email, like billing reminders, but the email bounced. To fix the issue:

1. Click Change email and change your email address. Look for any typos in your account email address.
2. Click Dismiss if you're receiving billing-related emails. This removes the banner from your account dashboard.
3. Check your billing subscriptions to ensure they're active.
4. If you think you're not receiving emails from Squarespace, contact us and we'll investigate.

There are two reasons this error might happen. Our servers might be blocking your IP address because we're getting a high volume of requests, or it could be an issue with your domain's DNS settings.

To fix the issue:

1. Visit this demo Squarespace site and complete the CAPTCHA. Usually, the block on your IP address is removed within six hours.
2. If the demo site doesn't display a CAPTCHA, your IP address probably isn't blocked. Go to your site's built-in domain to check if you have access.
3. If you can access your built-in domain but not your custom domain, there's probably an issue with your DNS settings. If you use a Squarespace domain, go to your Advanced settings panel, in the Nameservers tab, click Use Squarespace nameservers, and save your changes.
4. If you still have trouble, contact us.

Note that unblocking your IP address in step 1 isn't permanent. You may need to repeat this process again in the future.

There are a few reasons this error might happen. There could be something wrong with your domain, or it could just be an issue with your browser or connection.

To fix the issue:

1. If you use a third-party domain, click Settings, and then click Domains, and check if the domain is connected. If a red error message appears, visit Troubleshooting domain connections.
2. If you tried to visit your site using an https:// connection, ensure SSL is enabled for your site.
3. Try opening your site from another network, as there may be a firewall blocking access to squarespace.com.
4. Clear your browser’s cache.

This error message may be related to a system-wide connectivity issue. Review our Status page to check for outages that may be affecting your site.

Messages like these can appear if you try to access a Squarespace site from behind a firewall that blocks it. You might have this issue if you’re on a corporate network, or if you use firewall software. To fix the issue, adjust your network’s security settings.

This message appears as a security measure if we detect an unusually high number of requests from the same IP address at the same time.

Sometimes a connection, hardware issue, or browser extension falsely triggers this message. In rare cases, it happens if there are many devices on the same network looking at your site.

To fix the issue:

1. Complete the CAPTCHA field that appears. This removes your IP from our abuse filter for 12 hours and typically resolves the issue.
2. If the message appears again after a few visits, contact us. Include your IP address in your message. If you need help finding your IP address, visit What is My IP Address.

This error message might appear if you use third-party blocks or custom code to display content from other sites, which might not support SSL.

To fix the issue, your customer should:

1. Enable cookies.
2. Reload the page.

Your PayPal business account email address is linked to a PayPal personal account.

To fix the issue:

1. Log into your PayPal Business account.
2. Click Profile, then click Profile and settings.
3. Click Update Email on the bottom-left corner.
4. Find your personal email and click Remove.

Your order can’t be completed because of an issue with the merchant payment setup. Please contact us about this issue.

This error message appears to customers if your payment processor account was disconnected.

To fix the issue, reconnect your payment processor account:

1. Open the Store payments panel.
2. Click Stripe or PayPal.
3. Click Disconnect Stripe or Disconnect PayPal.
4. Click Connect Stripe or Connect PayPal to reconnect.

DNS Conflict Alert

You tried to point a subdomain that’s also linked to your site as a third-party domain.

To fix the issue:

1. Follow the steps in Disconnecting a third-party domain to remove the subdomain.
2. Return to the original domain’s DNS settings panel and delete any custom records you’ve added for the subdomain.
3. Click Save at the top of the page.
4. Point your subdomain again using custom records.

The domain name is invalid

This usually appears when you try to register a domain name with the word "Squarespace" in it. Try again using a different domain name.

The domain name is unavailable

This usually appears when you try to register a domain name that’s either:

• Already taken
• A premium domain, which is a domain someone has already registered and is available for sale.

Try again using a domain that meets our requirements.

Domain Not Claimed

This message appears when you visit a domain that has DNS records pointing to Squarespace, but isn't connected to a specific site.

If you see this message when visiting your domain, ensure it's connected to a site.

This site can’t be reached: DNS PROBE FINISHED (NXDOMAIN)

This usually appears when you try pointing a domain to a non-Squarespace site.  This message means the servers couldn’t find any IP addresses or A records listed in your domain’s DNS records. To fix this, add any missing A records to your DNS settings.

Robots.txt errors

This message tells Google not to crawl certain pages on your site if they're for internal use only, or if they display duplicate content. This is a normal SEO best practice.

To fix the issue:

1. Click Okay in the message.
2. Log in using your Squarespace email address and password.
3. If you still have trouble, visit I can’t log in.

To access your site, reactivate it:
