Move your existing custom email address to Essential Email by Titan.

When you switch your current email provider to Essential Email by Titan, you can manage your email subscription billing in your Squarespace account, and use the features included in your Essential Email plan.

Tip: Don’t cancel your current email service or change any MX records on your email provider’s end until your Essential Email setup is complete. This ensures your email remains active while you set up your new inbox.

What you need to switch your email to Essential Email by Titan

To switch to Essential Email, you need to meet all of our eligibility requirements.

Step 1 - Create your Essential Email by Titan account

1. Create your Essential Email account. Use the same custom domain you’re already using to keep your email address intact.
2. During setup, some emails may still route to your old provider. This is normal. Mail services sometimes cache the old MX records. This typically lasts 1-2 hours, but it can sometimes take up to 48 hours.

Step 2 - Import your data to Titan

Before closing your old email account, check if your current email provider supports exporting emails, contacts, or other data to Titan Email. If so, follow Titan’s documentation on importing the external emails.

When you migrate data from your current email provider to Titan, all of your email history should transfer over and be accessible from your new Essential Email account.

Step 3 - Cancel your third-party email service

After 48 hours, you can cancel email service with your original provider if all of the following apply:

• You’ve created your Titan Email account and imported your data
• You’re successfully receiving emails to your Titan Email account

If any remain, remove MX records from your previous email provider, but don't remove any Essential Email by Titan records from Squarespace.

After you complete these steps, all your new emails should route to your Titan Mail account.
