Your Essential Email account comes with one primary email address that you can't change after setup. However, you can create additional email addresses (aliases) that route to the same inbox at no extra cost.

What's an email alias?

An alias is an email address that delivers to your existing inbox rather than creating a separate one. It's different from a new mailbox in that there's no separate login, storage, or account.

For example, if your primary email address is chris@yourdomain.com and you want to receive emails sent to info@yourdomain.com and hello@yourdomain.com, you'd create "info" and “hello” as aliases. Messages sent to those alias addresses will appear in chris@yourdomain.com's inbox.

What email aliases can and can't do

Email aliases can:

• Route email to your primary inbox
• Help you manage multiple roles or departments from one account
• Provide flexibility when you can’t change your primary email address

Email aliases can't:

• Send email
• Replace or change your primary email address
• Have their own separate inbox, storage, or login

To add up to 10 aliases at no additional cost, follow the steps in Titan's documentation. You'll manage aliases from the Titan Control Panel.

Can I use Squarespace email forwarding with aliases?

No. You can’t use Squarespace's built-in email forwarding with a custom email address on a domain. Squarespace's email forwarding works by automatically adding TXT, DMARC, and MX records to your domain's DNS settings. Because a custom email address (like Titan) is already using those MX records, adding Squarespace's forwarding records would create a conflict that breaks mail delivery for one or both setups.

If you need both forwarding and a custom address, you'd manage all forwarding rules through Titan rather than through Squarespace.
