Direct links in Squarespace Scheduling

Direct links steer clients to specific offerings, or help them access appointment types that are usually private.

Instead of going through the whole scheduling process, clients who click on a direct link open a  scheduler with some options already selected or narrowed down. You can send them to a specific appointment type, appointment category, calendar, or location. You can also link directly to your class list, or to your list of packages, gift certificates, and subscriptions.

Link to appointment types

With these links, the appointment type is already set, and clients complete the rest of the booking process as normal.

To create the link:

  1. In Scheduling, click Scheduling page link.
  2. In the Direct links & embedding section, use the drop-down menu to choose an appointment type.
  3. Click Copy to copy the link to your clipboard, then paste the link anywhere you want to share it.

Link to appointment categories

With these links, clients choose from the appointments in the selected category, then book as normal.

  1. In Scheduling, click Scheduling page link.
  2. In the Direct links & embedding section, use the drop-down menu to choose an appointment category.
  3. Click Copy to copy the link to your clipboard, then paste the link anywhere you want to share it.

Link to calendars

With these links, clients choose from the appointment types offered on the calendar you’ve chosen, and aren’t prompted to pick a calendar during booking.

  1. In Scheduling, click Scheduling page link.
  2. In the Direct links & embedding section, use the drop-down menu to choose a calendar.
  3. Click Copy to copy the link to your clipboard, then paste the link anywhere you want to share it.

Link to locations

Clients choose from the appointment types offered on calendars set to the location you’ve chosen. If you've configured your scheduler to allow clients to pick a calendar, they're only shown calendars at the chosen location. After that, clients complete the booking process as normal.

  1. In Scheduling, click Availability.
  2. Scroll down to the location you want, then click the Direct link button to the right of the location.
  3. Click Copy, then click Close.
  4. Paste the link anywhere you want to share it.

Link to your class list

Clients choose from a list of your group classes, then book as normal.

  1. In Scheduling, click Scheduling page link.
  2. In the Direct links & embedding section, use the drop-down menu to choose All classes.
  3. Click Copy to copy the link to your clipboard, then paste the link anywhere you want to share it.

Link to packages, gift certificates, and subscriptions

Clients choose from a list of your packages, gift certificates, and subscriptions. They follow the standard checkout for these offerings. They can schedule the appointments they’ve paid for after checkout, or later.

  1. In Scheduling, click Packages, gifts & subscriptions.
  2. Click the Direct link to store button on the right side of the page.
  3. Click Copy to copy the link to your clipboard, then paste the link anywhere you want to share it.
Note: If you link directly to a package, gift certificate, or subscription, clients go directly to the checkout screen and won’t be shown any package descriptions you’ve added.

Private appointment types

If your direct link leads to a mix of public and private appointment types, only public options will display. If your direct link leads to a single private appointment type, or a group of only private appointment types, the private appointment types will display.

If you have an appointment type that’s only for select clients, you can make the appointment type private, then send them a direct link. But you may want to warn your clients not to forward the link — anyone else who gets it will be able to book those appointments, too.
