Getting started with Squarespace Scheduling

With Squarespace Scheduling, clients can book appointments or classes using the scheduling block or through a separate scheduling page. Scheduling only displays the times you're available and encourages clients to book appointments on their own while capturing all the information you need.

Tip: Sign up to attend our Squarespace Scheduling 101 webinar on December 9th where we'll teach you the basics of Scheduling. You'll learn how to start a Scheduling trial, set your availability, create appointment types, accept payments, and more.

Before you begin

Scheduling is an Acuity product designed for Squarespace. If you're already an Acuity customer, keep using the scheduling block with your existing Acuity account.

How Scheduling trials work

  • All Squarespace sites have access to a free Scheduling trial. While you're on the free trial, you can access everything on the Emerging plan. Or you can start a trial without having a Squarespace site.
  • Your trial begins when you click Get Started when following the steps below. When the trial ends, we'll only charge your card if you choose to continue with one of our paid plans.
  • It's not possible to cancel a Scheduling trial after clicking Get Started. Instead, let it expire.

Start a Scheduling trial

To sign up for your Scheduling trial:

  1. In the Home menu, click Scheduling.
  2. In the Free Trial box, click Get Started.
  3. Follow the prompts to set up your Scheduling account.

Subscribe after your trial ends

To keep using Scheduling after the trial, upgrade to a paid Scheduling subscription:

  1. In Scheduling, click the prompts to upgrade.
  2. Choose a Monthly or Annual billing cycle.
  3. Select the Scheduling plan that fits your needs
  4. Click Confirm Payment.

How to access Scheduling

Depending on how you use Scheduling, you can access your Scheduling panel several ways:

  • In your account dashboard, click Scheduling. If you have more than one Scheduling subscription, there will be a Scheduling button for each subscription.
  • In the Home menu, click Scheduling.
  • If you use Acuity Scheduling rather than Squarespace Scheduling, go to acuityscheduling.com and log in.

Set your availability

Use availability to decide when you're open for appointments. You can:

  • Set regular weekly hours.
  • Cancel regular weekly hours on particular days using override hours.
  • Use override hours in place of regular weekly hours to set hours day-by-day.

After you've set your availability, a small version of your Appointment Calendar will appear in the Scheduling panel. Specific days will be highlighted as clients book appointments.

To learn more, visit Managing availability and calendars.

Add appointment types

Create appointment types for the different services you offer. Clients usually begin the scheduling process by choosing the appointment type they want to book.

To learn more, visit Creating and editing appointment types.

Add Scheduling to your site

Share your scheduling page with clients by adding a scheduling block to your Squarespace site. Connect the scheduling block to your general scheduling page to show clients all of your appointment types that are public and available to book.

Tip: To make an appointment type exclusive to certain visitors, add the scheduling block to a member area.

As your Scheduling account grows, you can use a drop-down menu that will appear here to connect the block to specific calendars, categories of appointment types, and more.

You can also share your scheduling page outside of Squarespace.

To link to your scheduling page:

  1. In Scheduling, click Scheduling page link.
  2. Under Direct links & embedding, click Direct link.
  3. Use the drop-down menu to select either the general scheduling page or direct schedulers for specific appointment types, calendars, and more. If you have only one appointment type and one calendar, this drop-down menu won't appear.
  4. Click Copy to copy the link.
  5. Paste the link wherever you're sharing your general scheduling page.

You can then customize the direct link to your general scheduling page, specific appointment types, and individual calendars. Learn more in Customizing your Scheduling links.
