The Squarespace Marketplace is a platform powered by 99designs that connects people who want help with their websites to a curated group of independent web designers and developers. This guide answers common questions about using the Marketplace and working with the designers, who we call Experts.
Who are Squarespace Experts?
Squarespace Experts are among the most experienced and active members of our professional user community, Squarespace Circle. They're invited to participate in the Marketplace if they've designed at least eight sites in a recent twelve-month period.
What is 99designs?
99designs is a creative platform that helps clients and creative professionals find each other and collaborate.
How do I work with a Squarespace Expert?
There are two ways to find an Expert in the Squarespace Marketplace:
- Choose an Expert: Browse the Expert directory and when you find an Expert you like, send them an invitation to work on your project.
- Get matched with an Expert: Answer questions about your website needs and goals and get matched with recommended Experts for your project. Select up to five Experts you’d like to work with, and send invitations.
For more details, including how to create an account with 99designs and how payment works, visit Hiring a Squarespace Expert.
How much will my project cost?
Project fees for websites can vary widely, even for projects that look similar. The Experts you invite through 99designs will send you quotes if they’re interested in your project, and you’ll decide whether to hire them. After choosing an Expert, you'll both decide on the final project fee together. Payments must be made on the 99designs platform using one of their accepted payment methods.
Any arrangement to work on your site will be between you and the Squarespace Expert. If you have a disagreement with a designer that can’t be resolved on your own, 99designs’ support team can help.
How long will my project take?
Your timeline depends on the scope and complexity of your project. When you submit your project brief, ensure that you include your ideal timeline, and the Expert you select will factor this into their quote.
What if I have a bad experience with an Expert?
Any arrangement to work on your site will be between you and the Expert. We recommend reviewing 99designs’ best practices to learn more about what to expect before getting started.
If you have a bad experience with an Expert, you may want to report them to 99designs. Squarespace will also follow up with a brief survey where you can leave a review of your experience.
