Editing your site in the Squarespace App

Editing your site in the Squarespace App is a similar experience to editing your site on a computer, but the app focuses on essential tasks and doesn't include everything you see in the full version of your site. The app works best for making basic page edits, such as creating a blog posts, uploading images to a gallery, or rearranging blocks. For more detailed changes, we recommend using Squarespace on a computer.

This guide reviews how to edit your site in the app, how to use our Help content, and the different features available for each page type.

Tip: The Squarespace App supports version 7.0 and version 7.1. To learn which version you're using, visit What's my site's template and version?

Finding Squarespace App information in the Help Center

Most guides on this site also apply to the Squarespace App, with the exception of areas that aren't currently supported. The only difference in the guides is the way some steps are worded. For example, if you can "click" something on a computer, you can "tap" it in the app. Note that the iOS version of the app currently supports different areas than the Android version.

In guides for features that have bigger differences between a computer and the app, you'll find tabs with steps and information for each device type. Click Squarespace App to see the app-specific steps.

The tabs look like this:

This is where you'll find steps for editing on a computer. Click Squarespace App for app-specific steps.

This is where you'll find steps for editing in the Squarespace App. Click Computer for computer-specific steps.

Read through the rest of this guide to learn how to do the most common tasks in the app.

Tap Settings at the bottom of the app, then scroll to find the setting you want to change.

Here are some key differences to be aware of:

These settings can only accessed on the iOS version of the app:

  • Site Styles
  • Email Campaigns
  • Billing (Mobile Start access only)

These settings can only be accessed on a computer or through other apps:

  • Analytics - use the Analytics App instead
  • Billing & Account
  • Code Injection
  • Commerce - use the Commerce App instead
  • Custom CSS
  • Domains
  • Email
  • Template

There are other settings not listed here that aren't yet supported in the Squarespace App, although we plan to add more features in future updates. For settings that you don't see in the app, log into your site on a computer.
