Using the Commerce App

Click the tabs below to see what you can do with the Squarespace Commerce App. For functions not supported by the app, log into your store on a computer.

Tip: You can also manage basic Commerce tasks, like viewing orders and editing your inventory, in the Squarespace App.

Getting started

  1. Download the app for Android or iOS.
  2. After opening the Commerce app, follow the prompts to log into your account or start a new one. For help logging in, visit I can't log in.
  3. If you have two-factor authentication enabled for your account, you'll be prompted to enter your six-digit authentication code after logging in. To learn more, visit Protect your account with two-factor authentication.
  4. When you're logged in, you’ll see your Orders dashboard, grouped by Pending, Fulfilled, and Canceled. Orders are sorted by date, with the newest orders at the bottom of the list. Swipe down and release to refresh the list.
  5. Use the main menu at the bottom of the screen to access Inventory or Customer, or tap More to switch sites or learn about the app.
  6. In the Help Center, you can tap Contact Us to open a ticket, or tap Give Feedback to send us your thoughts about the app.

Manage inventory

You can view and edit your store's inventory from the Inventory tab of the Commerce App. To refresh the products in your inventory, swipe down and release. Visit Managing inventory for more information about organizing, searching, and editing your inventory.

If you see a “No Products” note in your Inventory section and blank tabs in your Orders dashboard, there are a couple reasons why this could happen:

  • You’ve logged into a site without an active store. To fix this, switch to another site with an active store attached. Ensure that you’ve enabled live orders for the store from a computer.
  • Your store doesn’t have any live products. To fix this, tap Add or + to add a visible product. Ensure that your Store Page is enabled and not hidden by a password.

Squarespace Point of Sale

Use the Commerce App and a supported Square card reader as a point of sale system. You can accept cash or card payments in person that integrate with your online store. Squarespace Point of Sale is available in The United States for iPhones, iPads, and Android phones. To learn more, visit Selling in person with Squarespace Point of Sale.

Redeem gift cards in person

You can redeem a customer's gift card in person using the Commerce App. Your customer will need to know their gift card code, which they can find in their gift card confirmation email.

To redeem some or all of the gift card balance:

  1. In the Discounts tab, tap Gift Cards.
  2. Enter the gift card code. The gift card balance will display.
  3. To redeem the full amount, tap Redeem full amount.
  4. To redeem a partial amount, enter the amount and tap Redeem.
  5. Tap Done.

You and your customer will receive an email receipt for this transaction. The email displays the purchased item as Gift card redemption, and shows the remaining gift card balance.

View in-app gift card redemptions in Sales analytics. They display in the Point of Sale channel.

Scan a shipping label

If you have the shipping label ready when you’re fulfilling an order, you can scan the tracking number from the app.

  7. Hover until your device accepts the scan. The window will close, and the tracking number and carrier will display.
  8. Tap Confirm to fulfill the order.

Note: It's not possible to scan square QR codes. If your shipping label has a QR code instead of a bar code, enter the tracking information in the order summary.
