Squarespace Commerce App

Use the Squarespace Commerce App to manage your Squarespace store on the go. You can scan shipping labels, fulfill orders, manage product inventory, and contact customers from your mobile device. The app is available for Android and iOS devices.

Before you begin

To use the Commerce app, you’ll need:

  • An active Commerce store on a Squarespace 7 site
  • Administrator or Store Manager permissions
  • An internet connection

Supported operating systems

  • The Commerce App for Android requires Android 6.0 and up and is optimized for phones and tablets.
  • The Commerce App for iOS requires iOS 10.0 or later and is optimized for iPhones. We don’t recommend using the app with an iPad.

Using the Commerce App

Click the tabs below to see what you can do with the Squarespace Commerce App. For functions not supported by the app, log into your store on a desktop.

Tip: If you’re using Android 7.1 or above, you can use shortcuts to quickly access Orders, Inventory, and Discounts. Long press the Commerce App icon to see these shortcut options. Learn more about app shortcuts in Google’s documentation.

Getting started

  1. Download the app for Android or iOS.
  2. After opening the Commerce app, follow the prompts to log into your account or start a new one. For help logging in, visit I can't log in.
  3. If you have two-factor authentication enabled for your account, you'll be prompted to enter your six-digit authentication code after logging in. To learn more, visit Protect your account with two-factor authentication.
  4. When you're logged in, you’ll see your Orders dashboard, grouped by Pending, Fulfilled, and Canceled. Orders are sorted by date, with the oldest orders at the top.
  5. Use the main menu at the bottom of the screen to access Inventory or Customer, or tap More to switch sites or learn about the app.
  6. In the Help Center, you can tap Contact Us to open a ticket, or tap Give Feedback to send us your thoughts about the app.

Scanning a shipping label

If you have the shipping label ready when you’re fulfilling an order, you can scan the tracking number from the app.

If you don’t have the shipping label, or if you’re having trouble scanning, tap the Tracking Number field to enter the number manually.

  1. In the main menu, tap Orders.
  2. In the Pending tab, tap an order to fulfill.
  3. Tap Mark as Fulfilled.
  4. Tap the barcode icon to open the scanner.
  5. If prompted, allow Commerce to access your camera. If you’ve disabled camera access, enable it in your device's settings.
  6. Align the camera with the shipping barcode, ensuring that the barcode fits fully in the scanner field.
  7. Hover until your device accepts the scan. The window will close, and the tracking number and carrier will display.
  8. Tap Confirm to fulfill the order.
  1. In the main menu, tap Orders.

Note: It's not possible to scan square QR codes. If your shipping label has a QR code instead of a bar code, enter the tracking information in the order summary.

Managing push notifications

Enable push notifications on your device to receive alerts for new orders and low or out of stock inventory. When it's enabled, you’ll receive notifications for orders and inventory. To learn more, visit Managing push notifications.

Switching between sites

If you have multiple stores on your Squarespace account, you can switch between them.

iOSAndroid

For another store under the same account:

  1. In the main menu, tap More.
  2. Tap Site.
  3. Scroll through your sites and tap the other store.

For another store on a different account:

  1. In the main menu, tap More.
  2. Tap Log Out.
  3. Tap OK to confirm.
  4. Log into the other account.
  5. Scroll through your sites and tap the other store.

For another store under the same account:

  1. In the main menu, tap More.
  2. Tap Site.
  3. Scroll through your sites and tap the other store.

For another store on a different account:

  1. In the main menu, tap More.
  2. Tap Log Out.
  3. Tap OK to confirm.
  4. Log into the other account.
  5. Scroll through your sites and tap the other store.

Can the app work as a point of sale system?

No. The Commerce App can't process payments. However, if you’re selling products in person, you can use the app to adjust inventory for the products you’ve sold.

Can I use the app on an iPad?

While it is possible to use the app on an iPad, we don’t recommend this, as it’s only optimized for iPhones running iOS 10.0 or later.

Why doesn’t the app display any orders or inventory?

You may see a “No Products” note in your Inventory section and blank tabs in your Orders dashboard. There are a couple reasons why this could happen:

  • You’ve logged into a site without an active store. To fix this, switch to another site with an active store attached. Ensure that you’ve enabled live orders for the store from a desktop.
  • Your store doesn’t have any live products. To fix this, log into your site on a desktop and add products. Ensure that your Products Page is enabled and not hidden by a password.

How do I refresh my Orders or Inventory dashboard?

On any Orders or Inventory tab, swipe down and release to refresh. You’ll see a refresh circle while your products are updating. Orders are arranged by date, meaning you’ll see the newest orders at the bottom of the list.

Can I add a product from the app?

The Commerce App only displays existing products. To add more products, log into the desktop version of your site and edit your Products Page.

Can I edit a product from the app?

You can edit basic product information from the Commerce App. To learn more, visit Editing products.

I didn't give Commerce permission to use my camera. Can I enable it now?

Yes. If you previously disabled access to your iPhone’s camera within the app, you can re-enable it in your Settings to scan shipping labels.

  1. On your home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy.
  3. Tap Camera.
  4. Find Commerce and slide the permission toggle on. It will turn green when it’s enabled.
