What plan am I on?

We update plans periodically to better group new features, and existing customers can continue with the plan they signed up for. This guide explains Squarespace's current and legacy plans and their available features.

Note: If you're using Squarespace 5, visit Squarespace 5 billing plans.

Leaving a legacy plan

We don’t allow returning to a legacy plan once you leave a plan or cancel service. If you reactivate an expired site or change your billing plan, you’ll be moved into our new pricing and plan levels.

Cover Page plan

If you’re currently on the Cover Page-only plan, you can continue with your subscription. If you upgrade the Cover Page to a full website, it won’t be possible to return to the Cover Page-only plan. As of November 2016, we no longer offer Cover Page subscriptions directly from our website or by switching plans.

Check your billing plan and cycle

In the Home Menu, click Settings, click Billing & Account, and then click Billing. Under Subscriptions, you'll see a box with these plan details:

  • Billing plan - Personal (Website), Business (Website), Basic (Commerce), or Advanced (Commerce)
  • Billing cycle - Monthly or Annual

Click the tile to view the following information:

  • The primary domain for your site
  • Online Since - The date you started active billing
  • Plan - Your current plan title
  • Billing Cycle - Your current billing cycle (Monthly or Annual)
  • Next Payment - Date and amount of next payment

Current plans

Squarespace offers four billing plans: Personal and Business are ideal for websites and can support small online stores; Basic and Advanced contain additional features useful to professional merchants running commerce sites.

Legacy plans

There are nine Squarespace legacy plans. These plans are no longer offered. If you signed up for Squarespace on a legacy plan, you can continue paying this price, although certain features are exclusively available on the new billing plans.

To confirm you're on a legacy plan, check your Billing plan title and the date of your first invoice.

Should I change my plan?

If you're on a legacy billing plan, we'll honor the pricing you signed up at. You're welcome to keep your current subscription as long as you want. However, as your needs change you might want to select a new billing plan. For example:

  • If you want access to new commerce-specific templates and exclusive features like abandoned cart recovery, switch to the Basic or Advanced plan.
  • If you're on a legacy plan with page restrictions and you want to expand your site, switch to the Personal or Business plan.
Note: Once you switch plans, it isn't possible to return to your legacy billing plan. We recommend starting a new trial to explore the features of a different billing plan before switching.
