Ishimoto Blog Pages

Ishimoto's Blog Page displays as a list of vertically-stacked posts. Clicking a post title opens the full post at its own URL.

Note: To set up your Blog Page and posts, visit Blogging with Squarespace.

On the blog landing page:

  • The date and categories display above the post content.
  • The source URL, tags, and comment, Share, and Like buttons display below the post.
  • Use the Blog Meta Data tweak to set the color of categories, tags, and other metadata.
  • Author names don't display.
  • To adjust the space between posts, use the Blog Post Spacing tweak.
  • Use the Quote tweaks to style Quote Blocks. This affects all Quote Blocks on your site.
  • Promoted Blocks display above the post title.
  • Thumbnails can display in excerpts.

On individual blog posts, the layout is the same, but navigation for previous and next posts displays above the comments.

Here's an example post on the blog landing page:

Promoted Blocks

For both full posts and excerpts, Promoted Image, Gallery, and Video Blocks display above the post title. To promote a block, make it the first block in a blog post, above all other content.

Excerpts display with a Read More link. You can include images with excerpts:

  • Promoted Blocks display above the post title.
  • Thumbnails display above the excerpt text.

If a post with an excerpt has both a thumbnail and a Promoted Block, the Promoted Block displays.

The sidebar displays on the blog landing page and individual posts. Customize the sidebar content using blocks.

If you have multiple blogs on your site, each Blog Page shows the same sidebar.

  • Use the Blog Sidebar tweak to set it to Right or Left.
  • Choose Blog Sidebar: Hidden to hide the sidebar.
  • Adjust the space between the sidebar and the blog with the Blog Sidebar Padding tweak.
  • Set the size of the sidebar with the Sidebar Width tweak.
  • The sidebar scrolls up with the page.
  • The sidebar is hidden in mobile view.

On mobile devices and narrow browsers, content stacks vertically.

The sidebar is hidden on mobile.
