Five Blog Pages

Five's Blog Page displays as a list of vertically-stacked posts. Clicking a post title opens the full post at its own URL.

Note: To set up your Blog Page and posts, visit Blogging with Squarespace.

On the blog landing page:

  • The post title displays above the post content.
  • Use the Blog Byline tweak to display the author name below the title, below the post, or hide it.
  • Use the Blog Dateline tweak to display the post date above the post title, below the title, below the post, or hide it.
  • The comments, source link, categories, tags, shares, and likes metadata display below the post content. Use the Hide Icons tweak to hide the icons for everything except likes and shares. Use the Hide Tags Categories tweak to hide tags and categories on the blog landing page.
  • Thumbnail images don't display with full posts. They only display with excerpts.
  • To adjust the space between posts, use the Article Spacing tweak.
  • The blog landing page supports a banner, page header, and sidebars.

The Blog List Display tweak also affects the landing page's look and feel:

  • Blog List Display: Full - Full posts display. Thumbnail images display in excerpts.
  • Blog List Display: Header And Footer Only - Only the title and metadata (comments, likes, shares, etc) display. The date and author display if you've enabled them.
  • Blog List Display: Header Only - Only the post title displays. The date and author display if you've enabled them.

On individual blog posts, the layout is the same, but navigation for previous and next posts displays below the comments. Use the Pagination tweaks to set the font and colors, and add or hide a border above them.

Blog posts display the same banner, header, and sidebars as the blog landing page.

Here's an example post on the blog landing page:

Excerpts display with a Read More link. The post thumbnail displays next to the excerpt text.

  • To hide the thumbnails, check the Hide Excerpt Thumbnail tweak.
  • The Navigation tweak adjusts the Read More link font style, and the Body Link tweaks adjust the color.

On mobile devices and narrow browsers, content stacks vertically.
