To merge multiple Blog Pages so all posts display in one page, follow our shortcut to move posts between Blog Pages.
Step 1 - Select and move posts
- In the Home Menu, click Pages.
- Select the Blog Page with the posts you're moving.
- Press and hold Shift, and click blog posts you're moving.
- Click Select All in the action bar that appears at the bottom of the panel.
- Click Move Items.
In the Select Destination Collection Window, select the Blog Page where you want to move the posts, and then click Move Items.
The blog posts have moved to the destination Blog Page.
Step 2 - Repeat for additional blogs
Repeat the steps above for additional Blog Pages you want to merge.
Step 3 - Delete the empty blog
If you don't need the newly empty Blog Page, hover over it in the Pages panel and click the trash can icon to delete it.
You can recover the deleted page within seven days. To learn more about deleting pages, visit Deleting a page.
Step 4 - Create URL redirects
After moving blog posts, the posts will have new URLs with the destination Blog Page's slug.
For example, if the original Blog Page was www.yourdomain.com/oldblog, and the destination Blog Page is www.yourdomain.com/newblog, a moved blog post will change:
- Original URL (doesn't work): www.yourdomain.com/old-blog/MM/DD/YY/sample-post
- New URL: www.yourdomain.com/new-blog/MM/DD/YY/sample-post
If visitors try to visit the blog posts using their original URLs, they will be taken to your 404 error page. This may disrupt traffic to your site if you often share links to your posts.
To prevent this from happening, create URL redirects for every blog post. To learn more, visit Creating URL redirects.
Note: If you're looking for help on merging two different Squarespace sites, we don't currently offer this functionality. However, you can change the ownership of a site to another contributor.
