Adding images to a gallery by email

If you capture a share-worthy image on the go, you can post it to a Gallery Page by sending it to a unique email address.

This is a great shortcut for building your gallery from any device without logging into your site.

Note: We're discontinuing the Post by Email feature, so it might not be available on your site. If you’re currently using this feature, it will be available through December 5, 2016. It is no longer possible to add a new Post by Email email address.
Note: Any emailed images received at the unique email address will be posted, regardless of the sender's email address and whether they have permissions on your site.

Step 1 - Get the Post by Email Address

If you already have a unique email address for posting, you can continue using this through December 5, 2016. It isn't possible to create a new Post by Email email address.

Step 2 - Post to your gallery

When you're ready to post a new image, email it to this email address.

You can only add one image to your gallery via email at a time, so you should only attach one image per email.

For a successful upload, follow these parameters:

  • Email subject - Enter the image title as you want it to appear on your site.
  • Body of the email - Enter a description of the image in plain text (as opposed to rich text format). Bold, italics, and links are accepted.
  • Attachments - Attach the image. (Don't drag and drop it into the body of the email.)
  • File formats - .jpg, .gif, or .png only.

For more help with formatting your images, visit How should I format my images for display on the web?.

Images posted via email will appear in your gallery in 5 to 10 minutes.

Note: If you ever forget this email address, return to Gallery Settings, click the X icon next to the email address, and then click refresh. This generates a new email address.
