Select the currency customers use to buy products and make donations, or display prices in local currencies with multi-currency checkout.

Your store has one primary currency, which is what you're paid in and what applies to your donation blocks. When you connect a payment processor to your Squarespace site, your store displays the currency associated with that processor, as long as we offer it.

With multi-currency checkout, international customers can also see prices and pay in their own currency while your payout stays in your primary currency.

You can only choose one currency for your store

Here are some important points to consider before choosing your store currency:

• Your store's currency also applies to donation blocks.
• Your currency formatting follows the standards for your site language.
• You can't change your store's currency after you sell a gift card, even if it was sold in a test order. This is to make sure the gift card keeps its value based on the currency used when it was bought. If you have sold a gift card and need to change your store's currency, you must create a duplicate site.
• If your country supports multiple currencies, we recommend choosing the currency used by the bank account connected to your payment processor. Funds in that currency will go to that account with no conversion fee.

Available store currencies for Squarespace Payments, Stripe and PayPal

Change your primary currency

To change your store's currency:

1. If you haven't already, connect a payment processor. Connect Squarespace Payments, or a third-party payment processor like Stripe or PayPal.
2. Open the Payments Settings panel.
3. Click Store Currency.
4. Select an available currency from the dropdown menu.
5. Click Save.

If your currency isn't listed

Can customers checkout using their local currency?

If you use Squarespace Payments or Stripe, multi-currency checkout is on by default. International customers view prices and pay in their local currency at checkout, and you receive your payout in your store's primary currency.

To use multi-currency checkout, connect Squarespace Payments or Stripe. It's not available if PayPal is your only payment processor.

Multi-currency checkout applies to:

• One-time store purchases
• Invoices
• Pay links
• Donations
