Orders at least discounts

This guide shows you how to create a discount that can apply to an order over a certain total price.

You can use this discount to encourage large orders. It's common to offer free shipping with this discount type.

Note: You must have at least one product on your Products Page to create a discount. To learn more, visit Adding products to your store.

Step 1 - Go to the Discounts panel

Depending on your plan:

  • In the Home Menu, click Commerce, and then click Discounts.
  • In the Home Menu, click Discounts.

You can also press the ? key while any panel is open and search discounts.

Click Add Discount in the top-right corner.

Step 2 - Choose a discount rule

Step 3 - Choose a discount type

Choose the type of discount that will apply to the order:

  • Flat Discount - Apply a flat monetary amount off the product's price
  • Percentage Discount - Apply a percentage off the product's price
  • Free Shipping - Override the shipping cost to $0.00

Step 4 - Edit the discount details

Discount Name

Enter a name for your discount.

Promo Code

Enter the promo code that customers must enter to apply the discount to the order. You can also click Generate to generate a random promo code.

Flat Discount

If you selected Flat Discount, enter the flat amount that will be deducted from the order.

Percentage Discount

If you selected Percentage Discount, enter the percentage that will be deducted from the order.

Note: Percentage Discounts must be a whole number. Don't include the percent sign (%).

Minimum price

Enter the minimum order total required to apply the discount. In the example below, customers can only apply this discount to orders that are at least $100.

Note: A customer can't apply a discount that offers a discount higher than the order total. 

Step 5 - Set the discount duration

Click the date boxes to select a date range in which the discount will be valid. The end date is the discount's expiration date.

Step 6 - Save

Click Save to publish your changes.
