If you have a custom domain linked to your Squarespace site, you can also use a custom email address. For example, if your domain is www.sampledomain.com, you can use an email address like email@example.com. Custom email address work with Squarespace Domains and third-party domains.
You can use our integration with G Suite to set up a new email account, or continue using an existing email account connected to your third-party domain.
Use G Suite by Google
If you don't already have a custom email address for your domain, you can create a new one through our partnership with G Suite by Google. When you sign up for G Suite through Squarespace, you’ll manage your email account billing through Squarespace, but use Google's interface to access your emails, calendars, and documents.

Use an existing custom email address
If you already have a custom email address, you can continue using it after connecting your domain to Squarespace. Since this email service is separate from Squarespace, it won't affect your site.
If your email is linked to a third-party domain, connecting your domain to Squarespace won’t affect the way your email is hosted. If your email is linked to a Squarespace Domain, you can continue using your third-party email service by changing your domain’s MX records.
Is my email hosted by Squarespace?
Your site is hosted by Squarespace, and you have the option of hosting a domain with Squarespace, but your email address will always be hosted externally. When you use our integration with G Suite, you'll manage your billing through Squarespace, but Google hosts the email address.
Here’s how those three elements can work with your site:
- Site: Always hosted by Squarespace
- Custom domain: Hosted by Squarespace or a third party domain provider
- Email: Always hosted by a third party (either G Suite or another provider)
