On March 4, 2020, our direct Xero integration will be discontinued. If you use this integration, Xero will stop syncing with your Squarespace site on that date, unless you reconnect to Xero through Squarespace Extensions.
To continue sending your store’s transaction data to Xero, connect your site to one of our third-party accounting extensions. From there, you can choose to send your data to Xero and other accounting options.
After this change, Squarespace will no longer manage the direct connection between Xero and your site. Instead, the connection will be supported by OneSaas or Greenback.
Connect an accounting extension
To connect an accounting extension to your site:
- Go to Squarespace Extensions.
- Review the details for Greenback or Xero by OneSaas.
- Choose the extension that meets your accounting needs. Review the pricing details, which are separate from your Squarespace and Xero subscriptions.
- Click Connect.
- Follow the steps on the service’s site to complete the setup.
What is Squarespace Extensions?
Squarespace Extensions is a new portfolio for third-party extensions that add to the functionality of your Squarespace site.
When will the direct Xero integration be discontinued?
If your site is already connected to Xero, data will stop syncing on March 4, 2020. Until then, accounting data will continue to send from your Squarespace site to Xero. To send accounting data to Xero after March 4, connect your site to a Squarespace Extension that supports Xero.
Starting December 11, 2019, it won’t be possible to make new, direct connections to Xero.
Will historical accounting data remain in Xero?
Yes. This change won’t affect data that has already been sent to Xero.
How much does it cost to connect a Squarespace Extension?
There’s no additional cost through Squarespace to connect an extension, but Greenback and OneSaas charge their own subscription fees. To learn more, visit the details pages for Greenback and Xero by OneSaas.
